Zambia – Life in developing country

Firstly I have to apologise not for writing for so long time; I have been quite busy with all sorts of small things and tasks during these past months. So what happened in Zambia? It was exciting three weeks and the stay opened my eyes and showed me better perspective of life. I traveled from Windhoek to Livingstone which took me around 20 hours in a bus. Once again the easiest option was to take Intercape bus. There are also several other bus companies crossing the border but it’s a bit more difficult to get any information of those companies.Read more

Sand, dust and sun… welcome to Namibia

After 5 weeks of travelling around in South Africa, it was time to say goodbye and head down to Namibia; the country of sand, dust and sun. Of course I took the “easiest” ride and traveled by bus from Johannesburg to Windhoek via Upington; 1800 km – about 26 hours in two busses. 😐

People have commented that I haven’t shared enough photos in my articles. Check this out…

From Garden Route to The Wild Coast

Following two captions of my travel journal are written in the Wild Coast of South Africa. Let me share some stories and thoughts of my previous weeks.

TUE 25/10/16; after four weeks travelling.

I have been in quite many places recently and haven’t had that much time to write. after Wild Spirit backpackers I traveled to Chintsa, Mdumbi and Coffee Bay. Lovely time! I’m currently in Coffee Bay, Sugarloaf Backpackers enjoying my time here and going Durban tomorrow.

FRI 28/10/16; wild drumming party in Durban

In the city! I wasn’t sure if there was much to do in Durban before arriving here but it was good thing to expect nothing. I have done quite a lot during these two days here. My travel supplies needed some upgrades which is why I bought a new day backpack and some new clothes. I had a great time with locals and other fellow travellers partying at Happy Hippos and Cool Runnings. I’ll take a bus to northern  Drakensberg tomorrow and stay there for three nights. After Drakensberg, I’ll continue my journey to Johannesburg.

Exploring, fishing, hiking and chilling

Tuesday 11th of October. I was thinking of not writing this much but it’s cold and rainy now in Knysna, so I had an great opportunity to write some of my previous days here in South Africa.

I have been travelling for 2 weeks now and I feel even more thrilled and happy now than before. I had such an awesome time in Mossel Bay and Wilderness, and decided now to continue my journey to Knysna, South Africa to have a quick pit stop here before continuing to Wild Spirit Backpackers located in the Crags / Nature’s Valley.

Welcome to South Africa

It’s day 3 travelling and my second day in South Africa. I don’t know if I have experienced any cultural shock or differences yet. SA, and Cape Town especially is pretty much the same that any bigger city in the world except with more races and cultures in the same place. You can also really feel like in the UK (cultural heritage); in the way of architecture and service culture.
